Walking Holiday in Naxos, Greece
"Our walk across Naxos and back in early October was fascinating, adventurous and often breathtakingly beautiful- taking in mountainous mule-paths with Bonelli's eagles circling above us, abandoned eighteenth-century monastery gardens, marble mines, a wonderful temple of Demeter, and much more".
A network of traditional mule tracks and hidden valley paths will take you to remote and beautiful places you would never otherwise see, allowing you to experience Greek landscape and culture at its best.
The walks and accommodation are arranged by people who know the area intimately and who will recommend the best tavernas and local shops.
Below is an example of a self-guided walk in Naxos. Departures are at any time to suit you from April to June, or in September and October, when the weather is not too hot and the flowers are at their best. Accommodation throughout will be in simple but attractive small hotels and village rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Breakfast is included in the cost.
