Description
The ATG Access Vehicle Barrier Arm (VBA) utilises a hydraulically actuated, reinforced horizontal arm. Hydraulic actuators are located at the drive end of the arm.
To secure the perimeter, the reinforced bar is raised from the cavity to the deployed position approximately 30" (76cm) above the road surface. When the arm is deployed the free end is supported in the catcher end. The force of the vehicle impacting the reinforced arm causes the free end of the arm to lock into the catcher end. Both the drive end and the catcher end are secured to the footings with embedded mounting bolts and chains thereby creating a continuous tensile loop from one side of the barrier to the other which will prevent the vehicle from penetrating the secured area.
The hydraulic supply can be installed separate from the barrier, in which case, the hydraulic lines run from the hydraulic supply to the barrier via hoses in underground trenches. Alternatively, the hydraulic supply can be connected directly to the barrier to minimise the need for trenches. The hydraulic supply can operate from a variety of electrical power sources and is provided with all required fusing and protection. In the event of a power failure, the bar can be deployed manually with the Emergency Over-Ride Hand Pump.

A variety of installation options are available for the Vehicle Barrier Arm (VBA). Depending on which method is chosen installation can range between a few hours and 2 days:
• Surface Mount - above-grade, ballast, no excavation required.
• Shallow Mount Base Frame - low profile footing requires minimal excavation, less than 30" (76cm) deep.
• Deep Mount Base Frame - sub-surface, concrete footing, deep excavation required 77" (183cm)
