Totalwall Facade System

CGL Totalwall is a proprietary structural backing wall which forms the inner leaf of the multi-layer wall which characterises the ventilated façade concept. CGL takes responsibility for the design and supply of all the components of the wall and also will ensure that the external metal façade element is designed in conjunction with that backing wall - an issue that is often designed independently with unfortunate consequences.

Totalwall has been fully tested in conjunction with the company's metal façade and therefore can claim compliance with current regulations in the necessary areas of -

• Structural performance
• Airtightness
• Thermal performance
• Acoustic performance
• Fire performance

As Totalwall is a lightweight metal wall, the cladding contractors who typically install metal facades are competent and comfortable with Totalwall installation and therefore responsibility for the entire wall and façade construction can rest with the one company, easing logistical and design problems.

As an aid to detailed design, CGL has produced indicative details showing not only the construction details for Totalwall, but also the integrated details for all CGL's façade options and interfaces with other building components.
