School Building Services

The Highland Council required new educational teaching facilities at Grantown Grammar School, which is the largest school in the Badenoch and Strathspey area of the Scottish Highlands.

The extension comprises of science laboratories on the ground floor, with math's classrooms and a graphic communications room on the first floor. New toilets have also been provided along with stores and staff rooms.

The building has been finished with a mixture of render and spruce giving it a traditional look despite the modern construction.

A key benefit of offsite construction is a reduced delivery programme and the Britspace offsite solution meant the overall programme for the new build was half that of the traditional construction build.

This is the first of 2 projects for The Highland Council, with a similar project completed at The Nairn Academy.
