Description

All JET 9000/8000 buoys are constructed around a central galvanised steel core structure (the JET 8000JPE has an optional HDPE core) and use four common hull floats, tower and topmark assemblies. This modular design also allows for commonality of parts to reduce maintenance, inspection, replacement and spares holding costs.

The JET 9000 can be configured as the JET 9000QI with an intermediate length tail tube and the JET 9000Q with long tail tube. Focal heights of up to 6m are achieved with the JET QI and Q series. With its 3.0 metre diameter hull providing 9000kg of buoyancy, this is the largest in the JET series of navigation buoys.

The JET 8000 has the same hull diameter but uses a wider lower draft core structure with a ballast skirt, this reduces the volume of the floats giving a buoyancy of 8000kg.

Both styles are suitable for use in offshore and deep water locations where a large highly visible navigation buoy is required. The latest development has been designed as a replacement for GLA Class 2 steel buoys with respect to visibility, focal height and sea- keeping qualities.

The result is a buoy which has longer maintenance intervals, is much lighter and easier to handle and can therefore be maintained using smaller vessels.

The buoys are available as Cardinal, Lateral, Safe-Water, Isolated Danger or as Special Marks and can be configured to meet the user's individual requirements in terms of navigation lights, solar panels and battery configurations.

  • Hull diameter - 3m, focal height up to 6m
  • Built-in ladders, hand-holds and other safety features
  • Suitable for use in open seas, coastal and large rivers
  • Available in Lateral, Cardinal, Isolated Danger, Safe Waterand Special Mark configurations
  • Multiple mooring configurations including high current capability
  • All polyethylene components are UV stabilised - does not require repainting
  • Alternative to GLA Class 2 steel buoys
  • Precise manufacture allows interchangeability of parts
  • Open tower structure provides easy and safe access for maintenance
  • Modular system reduces spares holding
