Impulse (gas) system

For over 20 years ITW has been manufacturing and developing its range of gas powered, cordless tools, to provide the timber construction industry with the most portable, easy to use, high quality fixing system available.

ITW have worked closely with the end users to introduce a new generation of tools, featuring major improvements to cover more applications with improved performance.


Impulse technology

• An air and gas (provided by the fuel cell) mixture is injected into the combustion chamber when the tool's nose is depressed
• The mixture is ignited by a spark supplied by a rechargeable battery when the trigger is operated
• The piston is then forced down the cylinder to drive the fastener to a pre-determined adjustable depth

Advances in fuel injection

• Improved fuel injection system increases temperature operation range and fuel cell economy
• Power increases - the IM90i boasts 28 more power than its predecessor, enabling it to consistently drive 90mm ring shank nails
• On/off switches to save battery power
• Easy to remove magazines for faster clearing and cleaning
• Tool free depth adjustment
• Lower pressure actuation to reduce operator fatigue

The fasteners
All Impulse fasteners are supplied with appropriate fuel cells in packs dedicated to specific tools, to ensure that you have sufficient gas to drive all the fasteners. Smaller "Handy Packs" are available for the most popular fastener sizes.
