- In detail
ISL MAXI™ Flexible Duct Connections are used to isolate vibration and to absorb expansion and misalignment in low-temperature (<200°C) ductwork. They are manufactured as a bespoke product to suit customers individual requirements. A wide variety of materials, manufactured and coated within the ISL group of companies, are available, and they can be easily manipulated to produce flexible connections of any practical shape and/or size. Dependant upon the particular application, the proofing polymer will vary and we include silicones, pvc, ptfe, neoprene, epdm, fluoroelastomer and hypalon within ISLs standard range of coated glass and polyamide cloths.
Specially fire-rated materials tested for surface spread of flame and flame penetration to BS476 parts 7&20 and with a Class 1 rating are also included in the range; as are acoustic flexible materials which have been specially developed by ISL to reduce noise breakout by up to 22dB(A).
MAXI™ Flexible Duct Connections can be mounted on steel frames of any specification although more frequently are purchased with simple metal backing flanges or worm-drive clamping bands. Where there are abrasive particles in the gas-flow or where excessive buffeting is expected, a steel sleeve can be provided as protection for the flexible fabric connection.
