Facelift
Facelifts do not have an effect on the entire face. The procedure is appropriate for men and women whose face and neck has begun to sag. It will not eradicate lines on the forehead, around the mouth or 'crow's feet' around the eyes. Other cosmetic treatments are available to deal with these problems instead.
A facelift involves a general anaesthetic and an overnight stay in hospital. The stitches are hidden in the hairline and around the ear. Quite often there is no bruising, but if there is then it appears on the cheeks and neck and can be easily disguised with a little make-up.
In the right candidate, results can be excellent. It should not be obvious that someone has had a facelift, instead they will look younger and full of vitality. The effect of a facelift is long-lasting. It does not stop the ageing process but simply the patients will not look as old as they would have done had the surgery not been carried out.
