Description
Bideford was the third largest port in England during the 16th and 17th Century, handling cargos of all kind from the new world including tobacco and cotton. Today Bideford boasts a different kind of cargo from the local farmers, of dairy produce and a huge array of craft stalls. Come New Year's Eve, thousands of people in fancy dress make their way to the Long Bridge to wait for the parish church bell's to ring the New Year in.
