Entering and leaving a building, whether a hospital, hotel, large store, school, airport or office block, was once something staff and visitors alike did without a second thought.
It was access based on good faith and trust. Sadly, that increasingly no longer seems to be the case. For larger organisations not just entrances and exits, but within the building itself, lack of door security can pose problems.
The solution is the installation of an effective, and simple to use access control system. To ensure that the access system is tailored to your needs, we can offer a wide range of technologies.
The original access control system is still a lock operated by a key or where multiple locks are involved a master key system where your key matches your job description. We can even protect the key from being duplicated by intricate key designs and copyright protected by law. We have installed these systems in large houses, schools, hotels, offices, power stations and airports.
There are however a couple of drawbacks with the mechanical systems; the first is it is not possible to remove a lost key from the system without rekeying all the locks that the key operated and the second is that there will not be an audit trail as to which key was used in which lock.
We can provide mechanical digital locks which are cost effective and very easy to use. Unfortunately these also suffer from not having an audit trail and though it is easy to change the code it is, in practice, very hard to tell the other code users of any change when the code is compromised. They are therefore used in low security applications with limited users.
In higher security applications or where larger numbers of users are involved then electronic access systems should be considered.
